These are super. Particularly like the lady stepping out of the car.

I love this! I’m always looking at places that exist in every small town/city. They’re homogenous on the outside, but unique on the inside. American Legions are in that group.

My impression is that social orgs connected to veterans are primarily white. Has that been your experience with the ALs?

My research seems to support that less than 30% of members are non-white, with that group split about evenly between Black and Hispanic. My observations have varied, especially within the lens of these open-to-the-public components. The small club in my own town has a small, white membership, but is used extensively for public events by nearly every walk of life imaginable. I hope to photograph the Post in Harlem, NY which boasts a remarkable jazz heritage and I expect will have a different history. If anyone reading this has a Post that should be visited to add to this story- this is part of a longer ongoing project.
